Sofía Silva Berenguer holds a MSc degree in Telematics Engineering and she has recently moved from a role as an Internet Data Scientist to a role as a Product Manager of the Information Services product family at APNIC. During her professional career Sofía has worked with different technologies and has performed research related to topics such as the Internet infrastructure, Routing, Security, the Domain Name System (DNS), the Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI), Anycast, and Internet Exchange Points.
Before joining APNIC Sofía worked as a researcher for IMDEA Networks and as an Assistant Professor at the University Carlos III of Madrid while she was doing her Master’s degree. Before that, she worked as Senior Security and Stabiity Specialist at the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean (LACNIC), which she joined originally as Hostmaster/Policy Officer at the Registration Services Department, and later went on to work as Infrastructure, Systems and Security Engineer within the organization’s Technical Department. Before joining LACNIC, Sofia worked in IBM Uruguay’s Networking department and was Head of Computer Security for an outsourcing project by IBM.
