Gabriel is Information Systems Engineer from the National Technological University of Argentina with postgraduate courses at different universities in the country.
Gabriel has worked for Comsat International and then British Telecom for 20 years, serving as Head of Internet and then as Portfolio Director for the Latin America and the Caribbean region.
He currently coordinates LAC-IX, the Internet Exchange Point Association for Latin America and the Caribbean. Participates in the organization of the Peering Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, he is a member of the LACNIC Board of Directors, holding the position of Treasurer of the organization. He has previously been a member of LACNIC’s Fiscal Commission, serving for 10 years.
He has been one of the founders of NAP CABASE and later Vice President of the current Internet Chamber in Argentina. He was part of NAPLA’s original work team (later Regional Interconnection Forum) of LACNIC. He has actively participated in different Internet forums and organizations such as the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), Global Peering Forum (GPF), ARIN, NANOG, RIPE and IETF among others.
Es Ingeniero en sistemas de información de la Universidad Tecnológica Nacional de Argentina con cursos de postgrado en distintas universidades del país.
Ha trabajado para Comsat International y luego British Telecom por 20 años, desempeñándose como responsable de Internet y luego como Director de Portafolio para la región de América Latina y Caribe.
Actualmente coordina LAC-IX, la Asociación de Operadores de Puntos de Intercambio de Tráfico de América Latina y Caribe. Participa de la organización del Foro de Peering de América Latina y Caribe. Además, es miembro del Directorio de LACNIC ocupando el cargo de Tesorero de la organización. Anteriormente ha integrado la Comisión Fiscal de LACNIC cumpliendo funciones por 10 años.
Ha sido uno de los fundadores del NAP CABASE y luego Vicepresidente de la actual Cámara de Internet en Argentina. Ha conformado el equipo de trabajo inicial de NAPLA (luego Foro de Interconexión Regional) de LACNIC. Ha participado activamente en diferentes foros y organizaciones de Internet tales como el Internet Governance Forum (IGF), Global Peering Forum (GPF), ARIN, NANOG, RIPE e IETF entre otras.
